Wednesday - Sowers day 7

Wednesday, we were back to our regularly scheduled work projects, which, for Becky and me, meant we were back to the Crazy Quilt Tile project!

We needed to grout and caulk, and weren't knowledgeable about either of those tasks...

... so Glenn came and gave us a tutorial on grouting...

... and we were off and running... erh... grouting!

Becky hand-filling in some spots on the table.

Benches are grouted - still need some additional wiping done on the tops.

After morning break, we needed to do the caulking - Nate showed up and helped us with that task!

It is so nice that others come around to help us just at the point that we need them!

Meanwhile, Carl had gotten reassigned to work on the Omega dorm -- this has been an on-going project for some of the Sowers for both last week and this week. There had been some un-diagnosed flooding going on for a while that caused floorboards to rot. When we got to the project, the folks at the camp weren't sure of the source of the water incursion, but ended up finding that the shower drains were not sealed adequately. This allowed water to leak out under the floor, rotting the wood, and seeping into the crawlspace. Thankfully, the crossbeams/rafters are metal and have not needed replacement.

Wesley is cutting with multi-tool to prepare to remove the doorjam.

DJ is using a hammer and chisel to take out some of the old flooring.

DJ and Wesley using an angle grinder to take out some of the *many* nails that remain in the metal crossbeams!

As a group, the Sowers are helping with many projects around the campus!
