Thursday - moving south

On Thursday, we left the St Barbe RV Parc to retrace our drive through Gros Morne and to Deer Lake. From there, we continued further east on Trans Canada 1, ending up at a Harvest Host, Bumblebee Bight Inn & Brewery, for the evening.

On the road heading toward Pilley's Island and our Harvest Host for the night.

Outside the Harvest Host was this "scenery storefront village" of buildings == we weren't sure what they were, but took a closer look and it turns out they are used to hide the large propane tank from view.

The view from the front of our RV in the parking lot of the Harvest Host.

On our way in, we had seen a collection of icebergs in the water along the road, so we drove back there in the Jeep for a closer look...

There was a little bit of sun so they were very pretty in "Flat Rock Tickle" (that's the name of the water!).

Looking out the "tickle" -- "a narrow salt-water strait, as in an entrance to a harbour or between islands or other land masses" (https://lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=2209)

There were also a number of floats in this cove...

... zoomed in on the floats in the cove -- they were in very straight lines. I think we understood from the waitress in the restaurant where we had supper that these are mussel beds.

Note that the Harvest Host is called "Bumblebee Bight Inn and Brewery". I didn't know what "bight" meant, so looked it up: "A curve or recess in a coastland" (https://www.dictionary.com/browse/bight#british).

Our supper at Bumblebee Bight Inn and Brewery -- yum!

A couple of other van campers also stayed the night with us at the Harvest Host.

Just for sake of reference -- this is a picture along the road from Pilley's Island on our way back to Trans Canada Highway 1 -- quite a bit of fog moved in as well as heavy rain overnight.

We're continuing eastward with a few stops remaining in Newfoundland!
