On Saturday evening, we went in to Twillingate for supper and entertainment at the Twillingate / NWI (New World Island) Dinner Theatre.
We had stopped by earlier on Saturday to pay for our tickets -- the room was full of patrons for the show!
People from all over Canada, and a few US states to enjoy the dinner and entertainment!
We liked the light fixtures, but figured they might swing around a lot in Gracie!
Our table was a table for 8 - there were 3 other couples - none of us had known each other before arriving at the venue... The other couples were from 3 different Canadian provinces - Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
Carl and I both got salmon, but the choices included lobster (a 1.5 pound lobster for each person who ordered it!), pan fried cod, and stuffed chicken breast....
... with a red velvet cake for dessert. Yum!
Some of the servers also were entertainers in the show - so as soon as serving was finished and dishes picked up, the entertainment began.
This was the cast of entertainers. The fellow on the far left played all those instruments on the stands next to him at one time or another, as well as playing the accordion on one song when the regular accordion-player was playing another instrument.
One of our favorite instruments, the ugly stick, made an appearance too!
Carl took short videos of several of the songs -- I made a compilation and put the video on YouTube -- you can find it here: https://youtu.be/iN6ThUlt7sI
We are enjoying learning some about the culture and songs of Newfoundland.
