We had free time on Friday afternoon, so decided to go visit North Pole, Alaska.
Our campground near Fairbanks was located in North Pole, Alaska -- our understanding is that a businessman got the name of the town changed to North Pole with the hope that he could convince a toy manufacturer to locate here... but no luck so far.

You could purchase letters from Santa with various themes, "Religious Christmas Letter", "Not-So-Good Child Letter", "Not-So-Good Adult Letter" -- if you're interested in what the contents of the different letters might be, you can find them via the links at this site: https://www.santaclaushouse.com/santaletteronly.asp

I had wanted to get North Pole post cards... but unfortunately, I did not find any! I did find a couple of other postcards, though, and had them sent from the North Pole post office.

Christmas everywhere

I particularly thought this sign/thought was cute! (Carl not so much!)

More Christmas everywhere!
While we were there, a large group of Army men and women came in to the Santa Claus House and went around the corner...
... they got to see Santa Claus, who took off his hat to them (and put it back on for the pictures).
Christmas just 144 days away!

Since this was our 54-month / 4.5 year anniversary, we decided to go out to eat...
... and we got Mexican food at "Taco King" - a local Alaskan chain restaurant.
It was a grey day, but we got to see the candy-cane designed street lights.
We're glad we got out, even on a grey and rainy afternoon, to visit the Santa Claus house and see some of North Pole, Alaska!
