On Monday, we had a relatively short drive from Seward west to Kenai.
We're grateful that we don't need to worry about avalanches during this time of year! |
The construction was a few miles long and the roadway was gravel and pretty rough, but we got through it OK. |
We turned onto the Sterling Highway to head a bit further south and west. |
Along the way, we passed through the area of the 2019 Swan Lake Fire... |
... it burned 167,164 acres in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and Chugach National Forest. |
We arrived at our campground for one night, Diamond M Ranch Resort, got settled in and then headed out for a tour of the "ranch" (details in another post).
