East to New Mexico

On Wednesday, we continued east on I-10, leaving Tucson...

Carl was trying to get a picture of the "Welcome to New Mexico" sign... but it was covered up by lots of other signs!

Well, that's a little better!

We stopped for the night at a Harvest Host outside of Deming, NM...

Talk about a hole-in-the-wall (or maybe a wall-in-a-hole?) place!

We parked in the lot across the road...

... beautiful views!

The restaurant building is a little sketchy...

... if there had not been reviews from other Harvest Host members indicating that, "Yes, it is sketchy, but they have good food and it is a good place to stay..." -- we would have been more concerned!

Going inside the restaurant

One of the reviews had said that it was hard to know where to go when going inside the building so they followed the sound of voices to find where the restaurant was! We did the same!

And HUGE beef brisket sandwich too!

The prices were a little high, but, we get to stay for no charge, and we need to eat supper anyway!

The evening ended with a colorful sunset...

... and we had a good night's rest with one other Harvest Host RV staying at the location.
