Line Dance Fiesta

The different clubs at Venture Out do activities to raise funds to help pay for improvements and materials for all the clubs at the resort. The Silversmith Club sponsored a Line Dance Fiesta on Friday. Instructors of the different levels of line dancers picked the music that they wanted played and identified the line dances that could be danced to the different songs. I guess Venture Out line dancers are unique in that they are used to dancing line dances to songs other than the ones for which the dance was designed -- it seems that almost every song ever written has a line dance choreographed for it! Anyway -- some of the music that was played had an intermediate or advanced line dance designed for it, but our faithful absolute beginner line dance instructors figured out what beginner-level dances we could do to them so we could also have fun at the dance!

There was a nice turn-out for the dance -- folks from other parks as well as from Venture Out.

All set to begin!

Deb's husband, Dave, ran the music from their iPad.

One of our dance instructors, Kay, did a walk-through of the first line dance steps...

... and we were off and dancing!

The floor was comfortably full -- some dances had the more advanced dancers doing one dance and the beginners doing a different one.

There was a backdrop and props for us to have pictures taken.

At the end, all of the dance instructors were recognized -- including Deb and Kay -- the ones who have been teaching us most of the time, and Liz who lives two doors down from us and who really got line dancing instruction going at Venture Out.

A good time!
