Dismantling a park model

One of the units down the street from us is being dismantled so a new unit can go onto the lot...

The existing unit was a very old park model -- instead of pulling it off the lot, they dismantled it piece-by-piece, using sawzall (or something like that) to cut it into pieces that could go into a dumpster to be carried away. We took this picture as they were in the midst of taking it apart.

We had met the fellow who lived there when we were staying here three years ago -- he enjoyed sitting out on his patio and shared information with us about the beautiful wildflowers that he had in his yard. (I posted a picture of flowers like his a few days ago: https://journeyinamazinggrace.blogspot.com/2024/02/various-pictures.html.) There had been a post in the community Facebook group offering the flowers to anyone who wanted to dig them up, which had made me think that someone was probably going to build a larger unit on that lot.

A few days later, the frame was completely empty. We suspect that they will be building a new unit on top of this frame. We have heard various reasons that people will do this: that the taxes are not recalculated unless a new park model is put onto the site, or that the unit can be built larger than are currently allowed to be built if the building starts on top of an older (larger) frame, or just that all of the lots require that the unit be built onto a park model frame -- and with the frame underneath, they can build whatever they want on top of it (or, "whatever" within the bounds of the community rules).

It will be interesting to see what gets built there!
