Before friends Keith and Ruth Ann left, we had walked a little ways on the trail that goes right by the campground. In the afternoon, before rain moved in, we decided to take a bike ride on the trail...
We took the Lower Yahara River Trail -- it went through fields, |
woods, |
and on a boardwalk over a swamp/lake area. |
We rode to the edge of McFarland (just after the boardwalk ended). |
A map in the park at McFarland that identifies bike paths in the town. We came in on the yellow path to the upper left. |
A bike repair spot in the park -- air pump just behind, |
A stand designed to hold your bike with tools attached for doing repairs, and a QR code that would take you to bike repair help online! |
Heading back - railroad tracks along the path ... |
Upper Mud Lake (it had a distinctive unpleasant odor...). |
Lake Waubesa |
Carl is so good at taking pictures while riding! |
I was able to only get one of him! |
Back home, we made zucchini fritters for supper - they were tasty and filling! |
