Progress today

Carl's brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Karen, came over to the apartment to help out today. Karen and I brought Verna over to the apartment and she went through clothes to decide which ones to take to her new room.

When Carl and Steve got back from doing some bank-chores, we took some pictures -- Carl and Steve with Verna...

Another shot of the three!

Karen also joined in the pictures (and the bear in the background photo-bombed the picture!)

Carl, Steve, and Karen also moved all the furniture (or, we think, all the furniture) that is going to be moved to her new room. This was the desk on the moving dollies ready to head across to the assisted living area (which is a LONG ways away, though it is all inside).

We've moved furniture, clothing, and books.

We also had some folks come from Windsor (the community where Verna lives) to evaluate the books that Verna is not taking with her, and they took some for the community library. We will have a representative from the thrift store on the campus come tomorrow to do the same with other items (furniture, kitchen items, clothing). Then I think we're going to pack up the rest and take to a couple of charities that will accept donations. We still have a long ways to go, but, moving items out of the apartment has begun and that definitely feels like progress!
