We made a bit more progress today as a lady from the thrift store at Windsor came and took 3 cart loads.
A funny story: in reading an inventory that Verna and her late husband had written -- there was a note about items stored "above the ceiling" in the kitchen. Carl moved a couple of the translucent panels and, voila! more storage was revealed!!!
Now, living in a motorhome, I am accustomed to trying to find additional storage wherever I can, but... I'm not sure even I would have thought to look above the ceiling panels! |
There was quite a lot stored up there! I'm impressed! And... we never would have thought to look there had there not been a mention in the inventory! |
Today was 2 weeks since we left Nevada and when we last dumped. Our tank monitors are not fully reliable, but they were showing that both the grey and black tanks were nearly full. Even though they probably aren't accurate, it is worrisome when they are indicating nearly full - we sure don't want to get to the point that they are overflowing! The tanks will back up into something inside the coach (shower or kitchen sink won't drain and toilet won't flush) and that is a smelly yucky mess! The fellow who is our primary host at the VFW had told us that the Wheaton Sanitary District had a free dump station for RVers to use, so we took an hour or so off this afternoon and headed over there to dump...

It was a little inconvenient to have to drive a few miles to a dump station, but it is so nice to be parked at the VFW so near Windsor where we are going most every day!
